Frag it

* Looking around for good free CMS (Content Management Systems)
XOOPS (best bet), ZOPE (Python-based only), Apache Lenya (again, good bet), but most of them are built for the Python/Perl computer languages, not for Java (I imagine they're compatible with it though).
* HTML Tidy => cleans up badly created HTML documents (i.e. built in Word etc.), and then validates it for the web
* Blogs go berserk
Excite, goo, Livedoor and Yahoo are all upping their offerings for blogs, with places offering 1GB of free space to sign-on (free) subscribers. There is a renewed interest in uploading pictures from mobile phones, which has made a major provider such as Livedoor boosting their server base to keep up with demand (they nearly shut down for a while back in January). Again, nothing about using it through the mobile and still nothing re. location-based offerings. * Blog boom
On average, these and other blogging communities (Microsoft MSN Spaces, Google's Blogger, Live Journal, MovableType etc.)'s blogs are expanding at a rate of at least 120%+ over the last 6 months (that's about 20% month-on-month). We have to jump on this bandwagon, but it's not for free. That's the only difference. There is so much competition that everyone's doing it for free, and they can afford to because they have the money and the sponsors, or it's strategy. I think it's bad strategy, because Ads are not everything, and it's time to bring back user revenue into the equation for a unique service.
