* Meeting up with Laurent from the Grand Hyatt Hotel tomorrow. As he is vice-head of food and beverage, he wanted to treat me to a martini round his place. It was funny talking to him yesterday about the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, as he had worked there for a while, and I had had a few drinks there when I was posted to Singapore there in 2003.
* He's just landed in from HK, so debating where to take him in the evening: La Fabrique club is doing a soft S&M night (so that should be spicy) but Yellow is doing a big-name house music night with Derrick Carter straight from Detroit (so should be well-attended)...
* Got my priorities straight for the marketing with four areas of luxury to focus on: 1. possessions (fashion, jewelry, writing, accessories, auctions), 2. experience (hotels/resorts, food, art, music, yachts, cosmetics), 3. community (diplomatic, showbiz, acting), 4. asset and their management (banking, money, property). The largest is Experience, followed by Possessions, then Community, finally Assets. -> blogs for the stars
