Patent inflation

* Well, well. Now the patent lawyers' office tell us that in case there is a rejudgement of our case at the patent office, not only is there an additional 200,000 yen to be paid, but we also have to add on 20,000 yen in "rejudgement handling fees". How interesting. The price has gone up from "about 600,000 max" to around 850,000 and now the (provisional) grand total stands at 1,115,300 yen. That's nearly 100% inflation for you over 2 months...
* Is this some sub-Saharan country that is pressured by the World Bank to repay debts at an unsustainable rate and is chronically corrupt? No, this is the Tokyo patent scene where prices inflate at will and with no relation to (the) economy. I'm incensed.
