Tuesdays and Wednesdays - TechTalk

* Presented my ideas today again to the other 2 directors of SDB, can't seem to get their head around anything... I was suggesting a shift from purely Java-based processing to text-based (script-based) processing, which is inherently faster. Then I got a tirade that actually Java-Oracle is faster (...hello? since when?), and well we should stick to the route that gives us the deliverables the fastest.
* I couldn't agree more, the main factor is time. But blog software is currently being built from the ground-up... if it's easier to build it in scriptware, then that's what we'll do. But we have a budget too, so if we can get it for cheaper, create a faster service and get it out with a patented system, I'll take that.
* Most important is what will be the composition of that mix => with the amount of time left til the May release of the Beta version, what do we need to concentrate on? My answer is, the core processing and delivery package. We need to put maps and blog info together, hence we need to process the info. And we need to give it a cool feel presentation-wise too. Anything outside that, if I can use a software out of a box for it, then I will.
* Anyway, yesterday was spent basically sussing that out.
