* It is finally ready!! The first prototype worthy of the name (ie. it works) - NaviBlog v0.2 - has finally been completed! To be honest though, the problem I was facing with the map display is still not one hundred percent fixed, but it is a good approximation for the time being. The scale on the (dummy) maps are of 500m*600m, and I have used icons built into the mobile phones for all the maps, so if you have a different type of phone, you might not see any icons. You will be able to click them though, and go through to the (Japanese) content on the other side.
* Note of caution: in this prototype, you can enter what you like in the boxes, select whichever checkbox you like, or decide to delete your favorites, but nothing will actually take place with the data. It is a dummy run with dummy pages that just connect to each other by simple links. It gives you a feel for the real thing without having to put in passwords, select stuff etc and you can dive straight in. You cannot either edit/delete/create a new blog in this version (there aren't any dummy files for these functions in the present version), and if you click the links that are there, you'll just be sent to the top of the current page. So it is there, but you still can't use it.
* The only interactive part is the main part, which is choosing the functionality (my blogs, all blogs, latest blogs, popular blogs, favourites and settings), choosing your category of information within these, getting a map with your information, and then clicking on an icon on it to get at the blog information corresponding to that position on the map. Again, although all the files are dummy files, you can click on this and the other and you have a different corresponding text, set of maps etc. for each one.
* If you have a WAP phone and would like to try it out (please), then comment on this page below this blog, and I will send you the web address and the user details to get into the prototype website!!
