* The indigenous people in Bolivia are creating a groundswell of support for opposition to the West-pandering government of President Mesa. Currently the "West's" gas exploration companies take home 82% of royalties from any gas exploited by them, in a system reminiscent of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company in Iran at the turn of last century (the oil company is now referred to as simply BP). If you remember, this company drained Iran's oil and after Prime Minister Mossadegh nationalised it to return it to the people in 1951, he was deposed by the CIA within 3 years, and royalties of 100% were then imposed on the oil exports for the next 25 years until the Islamic revolution in 1979... something to think about. Yes, regime change is the legitimate son of racial imperialism, and is quite a tradition now.
+ As Bolivian unrest spreads, Venezuela's Chavez has become a beacon to the oppressed. I mean, even Brazil's ex-populist President Lula, with all his suckering to the IMF/World Bank, still needs the "Chavez touch" to keep him in office as his poor populist base wonder why he forgot about them once they elected him. Remember, power to the people, was it?
